Loves Park Maaco celebrates 20 years

LOVES PARK—To paint or not to paint the whole car? That question is asked by many drivers of vehicles needing surface repairs.

“There’s usually no reason to completely repaint a newer car,” answers Loren Vrolyk, who, with his wife Jayne, celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Maaco center at 976 River Lane in Loves Park. “It’s better to fix the damaged areas and match the paint so even an expert can’t tell it was repaired. That maintains the vehicle’s remarketing value.

“When it comes to an older car, however, painting the entire vehicle not only restores a dull surface, it actually increases the resale value,” Vrolyk said.

The Loves Park facility has painted almost 20,000 vehicles. The 475 Maaco stores have repaired more than 16 million vehicles since 1972. That’s enough to create a continent-wide traffic jam 15 lanes wide.
