Lucia Fest 2000 scheduled for December 2
The Swedish Historical Society of Rockford will hold its annual Lucia Fest Saturday. The Kaffe Stuga will be serving traditional Swedish coffee breads and cookies. There will also be traditional Swedish foods on sale such as Korv, Bruna bonor, bond ost, hardtack, lingonberries, etc. The Erlander Home Museum will be open for tours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Plan to do some shopping at the Swedish Historical Society store, which this year will feature the new Swedish Historical Society Cookbook and Kirstens World book. Other featured sales are Jul Hus, Nordic Arts and Tony Thorsens wood carvings. Coffee and dopp will be available at both Erlander Home Museum and First Lutheran Church Loreen Hall.
The Erlander Home Museum is located at 404 S. Third St., and First Lutheran Church, Loreen Hall, is at 225 S. Third Street.
The Lucia Pageant will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in the sanctuary. Featured this year will be both Rockfords own Sveas Soner and the Lucia Fest Childrens Choir.
