Machesney Park holiday tree lighting Nov. 25

A community-wide Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held on the grounds of Village Hall in the Village of Machesney Park at 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 25 at 300 Machesney Rd.

“This is a wonderful way to bring neighbors together to start the holiday season,” says Vaughn. Residents are invited to bring an ornament to hang on the tree in the annual Machesney Park holiday tradition.

The tree lighting will feature a special appearance from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Children can have their pictures taken with Santa and enjoy hot cocoa and cookies. Carolers will stroll throughout the grounds, and outdoor fire pits will provide warmth for everyone.

Vaughn says hosting family-focused events are an important part of what makes a community an attractive place to be. “It’s important that, as the village continues to grow, we retain the friendliness that has made Machesney Park a wonderful place to live and raise a family,” Vaughn said.
