Marc Ford at Kryptonite

Formerly of Burning Tree and the Black Crowes, Marc Ford (center) played Kryptonite last Saturday night, July 28. Known for his laid-back demeanor and lean-in guitar style, Ford laid down multi-layered guitar harmonies reminiscent of Peter Green of the original Fleetwood Mac. His band powered in excellent rhythm and vocal harmonies as well. Ford’s 16-year-old son Elijah (left) was outstanding on vocals and rhythm guitar; his stage presence belies his years. Mark “Muddy” Dutton (right) on base was anything but muddy, developing clear bass lines with the crisp drumming of Doni Gray. At least 30 people at the show were following the band from places like Chicago and Iowa, recording and taking pictures. What a dedicated fan base! The band was booked with the help of Mark Muraski of Fuse Studio. Watch the getting-it-on at Krypto now that Chris is “LA Boy.” Katie’s cookin’ every night—keep track, or you’ll miss great music like Marc Ford’s.—Frank Schier, editor & publisher‘);
