Marquette game watch Feb. 16

The Marquette Alumni Club of Rockford will host a game watch at Damon’s Grill, 755 Clark Rd., Thursday, Feb. 16. The Golden Eagles will take on the Georgetown Hoyas starting at 8 p.m.

The Golden Eagles are playing in their inaugural season in the Big East Conference. Earlier this season, they beat the University of Connecticut 94-79. This was the only loss of the season so far for the No. 1-rated Huskies.

According to Alumni Club President Paul Arco, about 800 Marquette alums live in the Rockford area. Former Rockford Mayor Doug Scott, local radio talk-show host Ken DeCoster and current Rockford Lightning Cordell Henry are a few of the more notable Marquette grads who call Rockford home.

All alumni and friends are welcome at game watches and can enter to win one of the attendance prizes. One of the prizes to be awarded is a basketball signed by Marquette head coach Tom Crean.
