By Media malpractice! This is Bob Bennett’s description of the media mayhem while “reporting” on the recent election. CNN’s Judy Woodruff’s smile while she announced that CNN decided to call Florida for Gore swiftly changed to puzzlement a few hours later, when CNN announced there was a “mistake.” Still refusing to take responsibility for their inappropriate actions, media manipulators attempted to blame the “mistake” on “computer programmers.” Open your brains, media masseurs. Computer results are accomplished after a “computer program” produces a specific, previously programmed interpretation. Computer programmers write software after seemingly endless testing so that it is bulletproof. Media munchkins who attempt to blame programmers are looking for a scapegoat. This does not compute!!!

Media malpractice!

Remember the “computer glitches and breakdowns” I warned you about in my “It’s not your vote–it’s who or what counts it” column on Oct. 18, 2000? Historically, “computer glitches and breakdowns” are the common denominator of computer fraud or “irregularities,” as the media moguls prefer to call them. Thanks to Voter News Service (VNS), all the networks broadcast the election results the VNS software produced. “Irregularities” were produced by VNS, previously programmed, software.

Hypocrisy runs rampant in the Gore kamp. After retrieving his concession to George W., Al Gore said, “Despite the fact that Joe Lieberman and I won the popular vote, under our Constitution, it is the winner of the Electoral College who will be our next president. Our Constitution is the whole foundation of our freedom, and it must be followed faithfully.” Hypocritically, he continued, “We are now, as we have been from the moment of our founding, a nation based on the rule of law.” (fedmail@thefed.com, The Federalist Digest, Nov. 10, 2000) Since when does Gore recognize the Constitution? Since when do Democrats recognize the Constitution? In Florida, Democrat professional litigators, including Jesse Jackson, are ignoring our “rule of law,” filing lawsuits right and left to overrun constitutional law.

The 12th Constitutional Amendment, adopted in 1804, describes our Electoral College and its function. According to Article 2, Clause of the Constitution, the Electoral College electors must meet at their state capitols to cast their votes, according to voters’ decision. (Your Rugged Constitution, Bruce and Esther Findlay, Stanford University Press, 1950). The Constitution does not say if an election result is not what you expected, you can spend millions of political supporters’ dollars and litigate the election result.

If the Democrats want to display their legal intellect, they should be hauling the news networks into court, questioning their early election call. Pensacola voters now say, because of media moguls announcing an early decision in Florida, they “walked away” from poll lines before the voting ended. Bob Bennett described it correctly. It is massive media malpractice! I would love to see more “egg omelette” on media manipulators’ faces, as Tom Brokaw, NBC, described their embarrassment.

Israel-Arab update

It’s becoming more and more exciting to watch Bible prophecy written centuries ago, being fulfilled today. Jerusalem Mufti, the highest Muslim religious authorities, are praising “child sacrifices” in Israel. (Trouble in the Holy Land, David Kupelian, www.worldnetdaily.com, Nov. 10, 2000) In discussing the “sacrifice” and “martyrdom” of Palestinian youngsters, the Mufti called them “martyrs.” Sheik ‘Ikrima Sabri said, “We haven’t sacrificed enough yet to be worthy of liberating Al-Aqsa.” He proceeded to thank and praise the parents who encourage their children to be martyrs.

It’s unfathomable to me how religious authorities can praise the deaths of children to support their cause. What Scriptures are these people reading? The Torah, Old Testament and New Testament forbid any kind of child sacrifice. The Muslim God certainly is not the one Bible students worship.

Frantically searching for a legacy, Klinton has invited Yasser Arafat to our White House. This is the same Arafat who has not ordered his kompatriots, Palestinian militants, to stop killing Israelis. Vadim Norzich’s widow has sued the Palestinian Authority and Arafat for 64 million shekels. We recently watched on TV the lynching of her husband in Ramallah.

The Guardian of London, Nov. 10, 2000, has reported, “Arab suspects linked to big operation against US.” Kuwait reports it is holding three Arabs, looking for a fourth, allegedly for plotting to further attack American interests in the Gulf. They added, “the suspects were believed to be Islamists.” Daniel and Ezekiel wrote about these conflicts in the “latter days” centuries ago. Matthew 24 further describes the “wars and rumors of wars” prior to Jesus’ return. This fulfillment of prophecy reminds us to “Lift up your heads; your redemption draws nigh.” Luke 21:28)
