Internationally acclaimed acoustic guitarist/composer Richard Gilewitz performs at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Mendelssohn Club, 415 N. Church St., Rockford.
Gilewitz performs a kaleidoscopic mixture of instrumental selections with incredible dexterity and imagination. As he forges a new instrumental voice (as clear as pinged champagne glass) to include the expanse of his influences, Gilewitzs complex and energetic original works become stories from the guitar that evoke colorful imagery. He invites his listeners to travel with him in a time capsule filled with the past and present influences of instrumental guitar.
