Michelle Williams of Destinys Child, one of the best-selling female groups of all time, will perform songs from her gospel albums and share her inspiring testimony at Total Living Network TV51s Six-Year Anniversary Banquet Thursday, Sept. 28.
As a vocalist, songwriter, performer and native of Rockford, Williams has kept a focused vision built upon her faith in God. She started a solo career as an inspirational/gospel recording artist with her 2002 release, Heart to Yours, a No. 1 album on the gospel chart. Soon later, she released Do You Know and recorded a duet, Steal Away to Jesus, with gospel legend Shirley Caesar and then went on a national tour with Luther Vandross and Angie Stone.
Williams has traveled around the world on sold-out headlining tours and won countless awards, including multiple Grammys.
Other entertainment during TV51s banquet will include jazz music from Rockfords Jodi Beach. Beach began singing in a church at the age of 6. She officially became a member of the jazz community in 1995 by working as pianist and vocalist with the Moonlight Jazz Orchestra. In 1997, she began forming her own trio, which has since grown into the full-time endeavor heard today as the Jodi Beach Trio.
TV51s banquet will be at Sams Ristorante, 6075 E. Riverside Blvd., in Rockford, beginning with a silent auction and hors doeuvre hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner, music and a program at 6:30 p.m.
The money raised will go toward keeping family-friendly and faith-based television on the air in Rockford. TLN TV51 is a donor-supported, 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides positive programming to the community at large.
