Minglewood opens second location

Minglewood—the downtown stop for coffee, live music, entertainment, art exhibitions and unique gifts—opened a second location on the northeast corner of Broadway and Ninth Street March 3.

The new Mid-Town District location is home to Minglewood’s specialty shop while the old location at 317 W. Jefferson St., in the downtown River District, will function primarily as an entertainment venue.

Owner Karen Elyea said she hopes to soon offer food such as hot dogs, sandwiches, chips, and nachos at the Jefferson Street location. Live music and other shows will be offered at the Jefferson Street location every Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight. Elyea said the cost of shows will increase to $7 starting March 11.

The Minglewood Boutique store at the corner of Broadway and Ninth Street will be open Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Among other unique items, the Minglewood Boutique carries the finest selection of imported and locally handcrafted clothing, sterling silver jewelry, incense, candles, and handmade paper lanterns.
