Model Railroad Club sets spring open house for April 1-2

FREEPORT—The Stephenson Society of Model Trainmen has announced its annual spring model railroad show is set for Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the club’s home, 600 Fever River Place, the former Illinois Central Railroad boarding house adjacent to Wallace railroad yard in Freeport.

The feature display will be the fully operational HO-scale Fever River Railroad, one of the largest club-based model railroad layouts in the Midwest. Entry donation is $3 for adults or $1 for children younger than 13. Maximum family donation is $5.

To find the Fever River Railroad, follow the orange signs at the intersection of Galena Street and Island Avenue, one block west of the intersection of U.S. Business 20 and Illinois Route 26 on the north side of Freeport.
