Model Trainsmen host model railroad train show April 14-15

Fully operational HO-scale Fever River Railroad a top feature

FREEPORT—The Stephenson Society of Model Trainmen’s annual spring model railroad train show is set for April 14-15 at the society’s clubhouse, 1055 W. Beach St., Freeport.

Feature attraction will be the fully operational HO-scale Fever River Railroad. At 100 feet by 24 feet, this layout is one of the largest in the Midwest.

Other attractions will include the club’s portable modular layout and other displays.

Admission is a $3 donation for adults, $1 donation for children and $5 donation per family. The train show will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

The Stephenson Society of Model Trainmen clubhouse is in the former Illinois Central Railroad boarding house adjacent to historic Wallace railroad yard in Freeport. To find the Fever River Railroad, follow the orange signs at the intersection of Galena Street and Island Avenue, one block west of the intersection of U.S. Business 20 and Illinois Route 26 on the north side of Freeport.
