A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a column about little league baseball in Rockford. Since that time, I have received dozens of e-mails requesting more information. At the time, all I had was a Web site address of www.eteamz.com/rockfordlittleleague.
After several attempts by myself and the others with whom I exchanged e-mails, we were unable to access any information from that Web site. For that, I apologize.
Im happy to report that when I checked Sunday, March 4, the Web site was up and working. Since the last column ran, I have also been able to obtain the names and phone numbers for the directors in each of the leagues divisions.
For T-ball (ages 4-6) call Kim White at 815-979-2209. Dave Molck is in charge of Coach Pitch division for 7- and 8-year-olds. His number is 815-226-7149.
Nine- and 10-year-olds compete in the Minors, and Jay Lighthart is the director for that division. His number is 815-877-2036. Bill Reyes is the director for the Majors (ages 10-12), and he can be reached at 815-332-1441. Players 13 to 15 years old will play in the junior division. Prudence Logan will be their director, and can be contacted at 815-636-9349.
Unfortunately, the early bird registration deadline has passed, but any parent wanting to learn more about the league, which begins April 28, can now go to the Web site and download a registration form or call one of the directors. The good news is, parents still have time to get those forms mailed in. Deadline for submitting the form and money is March 24.
Thanks to all of you who e-mailed. I hope this helps those of you who want to get your sons or daughters involved in little league baseball this upcoming season.
