Welcome to the latest installment of the adventures of an RMTD passenger.
I had a medical appointment for a physical at 9 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 19. I consulted my RMTD schedule book and saw that if I took an 8:30 a.m. West State bus downtown, I should be able to connect with a North Main bus at 8:45. At least, thats what I saw in the book.
When I got downtown, several other buses came in and left, but no North Main. I went in and inquired at the transfer center. The man behind the window said the North Main had been there at 8:15. He had a book that showed that time. I then showed him my book, which was different. He compared the two and informed me that my book had a page missing so that the schedule across from North Main actually went with the Huffman route, which did show some North Main connections.
I then called my doctors office as it was about 9 a.m. I told the receptionist that the next North Main bus would leave at 9:15, which meant I could not arrive before 9:30. She said that normally this would not be a problem, but on this day the doctor had several physicals scheduled, and they could not work me in until later in the afternoon.
Since I had not eaten any breakfast (according to the doctors instructions) and was supposed to go in to my other job in the afternoon, this would not work out for me. They could not do it on a Friday because no lab work was done then. The best we could do was to reschedule the appointment for Monday of the week I was supposed to be on vacation. I then called my other employer to let him know I would be in that morning.
