Karen Stobbe, featured speaker at the 2003 National Alzheimers Disease Education Conference, will present her program, In the Moment, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Clock Tower Resort Conference Center, 7801 E. State St.
Stobbe will help caregivers (professional and family) to gain a better understanding of how the illness affects the way one works with those suffering with dementia. She uses a unique and interactive approach to help seminar attendees gain a working knowledge of the disease with emphasis on flexibility and creativity.
Seminar content will include communication tips and understanding why behaviors occur and how to problem-solve new strategies to meet these challenges.
Registration fee for the seminar (includes lunch and materials) is $65. CEUs are available for nursing home administrators, licensed social workers and licensed counselors for an additional $10 fee.
This educational seminar is offered through the Alzheimers Association. Information or to register, contact Bonnie Beam at 815-484-1300.
