Naturally Rockford: Alpine Kiwanis gives to five local non-profits

Summertime Brat profits help brighten the winter for many area non-profits.

Gratefulness and good cheer were abundant as the Alpine Kiwanis Club of Rockford gave away some of their hard-earned brat dollars to area non-profits.

The 95 members of Alpine Kiwanis gathered as usual at their Thursday morning meeting with representatives from five worthy area organizations—American Cancer Society, the MILL, Salvation Army, Winnebago/Rockford Clean & Beautiful and Big Brothers/Big Sisters, who were in attendance to pick up their charity distribution. They feel fortunate to benefit from this local summertime favorite each year. Brat Days is the major fund-raiser that enables Alpine Kiwanis to give back to those in need, consistently throughout the year.

The Alpine Kiwanis Club is in the planning process of Brat Days 2007, “Enjoy the ‘BIG TASTE’ of Brat Days.” Mark your calendars for July 20 and 21, and plan to attend one of three locations: Logli’s on East State, Edgebrook Shopping Plaza and Riverfront Museum Park at 711 N. Main St. Good food, good music, good cause!
