Naturally Rockford: OSF Saint Anthony offers free class Exploring D.A.S.H. Diet

Are you concerned about your blood pressure readings creeping higher? Would you appreciate guidance in taking steps to lower it?

Presented by the registered dietitians at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, a free one-session class, “Eating to Lower Your Blood Pressure,” will cover the basics of the D.A.S.H. (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) diet. You will discover that there are other ways to control blood pressure besides limiting salt intake.

The class will be offered from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the OSF Saint Anthony Center for Health, 5510 E. State St., Rockford.

During the class, a dietitian will evaluate the participants’ current eating pattern and make recommendations for changes that will help them make healthier eating choices. Participants receive written materials explaining the D.A.S.H. diet as well as menus, recipes and cooking tips.

Registration by calling 815-395-5025 is required. Space is limited to allow for discussion and questions.
