Neighborhood groups in Rockford that are interested in applying for a grant from the Neighborhood Grants Program of the Rockford Community Foundation should contact Barbara Nelson, senior program officer, at (815) 962-2110, ext. 15. Application materials may also be downloaded from the Foundation’s web site, www.rkfdcomfoundation.org. Completed applications must be received at the Foundation offices, 321 W. State St., Rockford, on or before February 17. The Neighborhood Grants Program encourages and supports the work of neighborhood-based groups and organizations working to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. Groups need not have 501(c)(3) status to apply.

The Rockford Community Foundation is an endowed public charity that is both a grantmaker and a partner in supporting the philanthropy of hundreds of individuals, families and corporations. The Foundation is a union of numerous gifts from many sources, the income from which is used to make grants to charitable organizations in Boone, Ogle, Stephenson, Winnebago and Rock counties.
