Nobel Peace Prize winner to speak

James Orbinsky, M.D., past president of Doctors Without Borders, will give a lecture at Rockford College as part of the Forum Series of Events at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 15 in Maddox Theatre in the Rockford College Clark Arts Center. General admission is $8. Tickets are available through the Rockford College Box Office, 226-4100.

Dr. Orbinsky is a research scientist and associate professor of family and community medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital and the Center of International Health at the University of Toronto. He is deeply committed to the core principles of volunteerism, impartiality and the belief that everyone deserves medical assistance and the recognition of his or her humanity.

This event is presented in conjunction with the Jane Addams Center for Civic Engagement, seeking to advance the mission and ideals of Rockford College through the study and practice of citizenship, service and lifelong learning.
