Nominations sought for 2002 Friend of Children Award


SPRINGFIELD—Prevent Child Abuse Illinois is now accepting nominations for its 2002 Friend of Children Award. Given each year at the organization’s annual conference, the award recognizes an individual and/or organization that meets the following criteria:

l Made a significant contribution to the prevention of child abuse in Illinois.

l Demonstrated a long-term commitment to children’s issues.

l Is an Illinois resident or Illinois-based organization.

Prevent Child Abuse Illinois encourages citizens from across Illinois to nominate an individual or organization for this prestigious award. To obtain a nomination form, contact Prevent Child Abuse Illinois at 217/522-1129 or visit Nominations must be received by Sept. 4, 2002.

The Friend of Children Award Luncheon takes place Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Radisson Hotel O’Hare in Rosemont, as part of Prevent Child Abuse Illinois’ 8th annual child abuse conference.

Headquartered in Springfield with 12 offices across the state, Prevent Child Abuse Illinois was founded in 1990 to address the issues of child abuse and neglect prevention throughout Illinois.
