Nonprofit groups raise funds at Bergner's Community Day

MILWAUKEE—Local nonprofit organizations can now start participating in a fund-raising opportunity with their local Bergner’s.

Bergner’s recently announced it will continue its successful Community Day sale event on Saturday, Nov. 19.

Local nonprofit groups can sign up now and begin selling $5 Bergner’s discount savings packets to support their group.

Organizations selling the packets keep 100 percent of the $5 packet price. Those purchasing a packet will receive their $5 donation back in the form of a $5 coupon valid on merchandise storewide, as well as several other exclusive discount coupons. All discounts are valid on Community Day.

“Participating in our Community Day event provides an excellent opportunity for local nonprofit groups to raise funds for their cause and also offers purchasers money savings discounts at our store,” said Christine Knipple, vice president of special promotions and publicity for Bergner’s. “This event is a free turn-key opportunity for local groups that enables us to directly support them in their fund-raising efforts.”

Organizations can sign up to participate in Community Day by contacting the local Bergner’s Community Day Captain to receive an information packet and sign-up form. Qualifying Community Day organizations include local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, churches and schools.

Since the inception of Community Day in 1999, participating organizations at all Carson Pirie Scott & Co. stores have been able to raise more than $21 million combined.

Contact the Bergner’s department store at CherryVale Mall at 332-5502 for more information.
