Northern Illinois Farm Show at NIU Jan. 11-12

DEKALB—Cygnus Expositions, the tradeshow division of business-to-business media leader Cygnus Business Media, has announced the 2006 Northern Illinois Farm Show will be Jan. 11-12, 2006, at the NIU Convocation Center in DeKalb. The event, now in its 24th year, offers a wealth of resources for the more than 10,000 members of the Illinois agricultural community.

“Each year, we strive to provide Illinois’ producers with the latest information and equipment prior to the planting season,” said Todd Benz, Group Show director. “This year, the show is being held one week later than usual, allowing attendees more time to return from the holidays and ensuring that exhibitors have enough time to ship their newest products to the show.”

The Northern Illinois Farm Show will offer two full days of timely educational seminars on topics that include a market outlook on crops and livestock, a biofuels panel, a crop pest update, and information about the Environmental Quality Incentives Program. More than 250 leading companies will display an array of agricultural products and services, from farm management software to planting equipment. A highlight of the event is the free pesticide applicator testing, sponsored by the University of Illinois Extension, being held on both days of the show.

Admission to the show is free, with a $3 charge for parking. The show is open Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about attending or exhibiting at the 2006 event, visit, or call 800/827-8007.
