Oct. 21 dance concert benefits HIV/AIDS

The seventh annual Arts for Life dance concert benefit for local HIV/AIDS prevention is set for 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, at Rockford College’s Maddox Theatre.

Arts for Life features dance companies and performers from Rockford and the surrounding areas.

Proceeds from the concert benefit local HIV/AIDS prevention organizations, including AIDS Care Network, Crusader Clinic, Diversity of Rockford and THAT (Total Health Awareness Team).

Some of the companies scheduled to perform are Rockford Dance Company, DanceReach, Without Shoes Modern Dance Company, Northern Illinois Dance Theatre, The Franz-Peskov Dance Company from Chicago, and Argentine Tango, featuring Maria Castello and Jacque Saint-Cyr.

The evening will also include an art show and a dessert reception catered by Kiki B’s.

Tickets, $20 in advance or $25 at the door, are available at the Rockford Dance Company and the Rockford College Box Office.
