The Ogle County Fair is not only a 4-H Fair, but also a Junior Open and Open Fair. This means in Junior Open and Open, you do not have to be a 4-Her. Junior Open is for youth younger than 18, and Open is for anyone any age.
To enter, one must pay a nominal entry fee and then be judged and placed and paid premium money according to the quality of the item. Classes for Open are vegetables, flowers, table settings, quilting, clothing, needlecraft, handcrafts, photography, foods, painting, drawing, dogs, sheep, beef and horses.
The Junior Open classes are clothing, foods, animal science, child care, crops and soil, electricity, horticulture, computer science, mechanical science, natural resources, photography, visual arts and woodworking.
For more information or a copy of the Ogle County Fair book, contact Joanne Juriga at 734-6075. Entries are due July 8.
