On the Waterfront receives Pinnacle Award

Six representatives of On the Waterfront, Inc. attended the 2003 International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) Annual Convention and Expo, held Nov. 18-23 in Anaheim, Calif.

While at the convention, On the Waterfront and MedicineMan, Inc. received a Silver Pinnacle Award for Best Print Ad Series. The most prestigious awards in the festival and events industry, the Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards Competition recognizes the very best in marketing programs and promotional materials produced by IFEA’s 3,500-member festivals and events from around the world.

The award was given to On the Waterfront presented by Associated Bank for the 2003 Miller Lite Great Lawn Concert Ad Series, designed by MedicineMan co-owner Mike Bunjan. The series ran in the Rockford Register Star’s GO section throughout the summer and featured 2003 performers Willie Nelson, Uncle Kracker, Jethro Tull and Cheap Trick.

“MedicineMan’s ability to capture the spirit of fun in the festival marketing pieces continues to awe and delight not only On the Waterfront but a host of festival and event professionals from across the nation,” said Becky Genoways, president/CEO of On the Waterfront, Inc.

MedicineMan, Inc. is entering into its sixth year as the agency of record for the On the Waterfront Festival and its other events, Groove Walk and the OTW Director’s Challenge.

In 2002, On the Waterfront and MedicineMan, Inc. were awarded the Gold Grand Pinnacle Award, the highest award in the Pinnacle Competition, for their 2001 Urban Diversion campaign. The award this year went to the Kentucky Derby Festival in Louisville, Ky.
