Oregon business holds raffle for Katrina pets

OREGON—PAWZ, in Conover Square, Oregon, is holding a raffle to raise money and promote awareness for pets hurt by Hurricane Katrina.

Thousands of pets have been rescued and sheltered so far, but many more still need help and medical attention. The process of reuniting owners with their missing pets will be ongoing.

Among the prizes being raffled are a giant plush dog, toys, and treats. The winners will be randomly selected and announced on Oct. 16. No purchase is required to enter. A $1 donation is requested. Entry forms are available at PAWZ in Conover Square.

All donations collected will be sent to The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).
