Just in time to help people enjoy warmer weather and its many activities, the OSF Saint Anthony Center for Sports Medicine and Health Fitness is offering its successful and popular program called Lose 10 Pounds in 10 Weeks.
Designed to teach participants healthy lifestyle changes and to ultimately lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks, the program begins with a weigh-in Monday, April 2, and ends June 8. Sessions are held at the OSF Center for Health, 5510 E. State St. in Rockford. Participants may stop by for their weigh-ins and log turn-in on Mondays any time between 5:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. when the Fitness Center is open.
Meetings are Wednesdays beginning April 4. Participants may select to attend at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m.
Program members are asked to keep and turn in a weekly food diary and exercise log every Monday. On Wednesdays, participants will receive recommendations based on their logs and diaries.
The 10 Wednesday sessions include informative lectures about such topics as resting metabolic rate, exercise at home, fats, proteins and carbohydrates, reading labels, vitamins and supplements, dining out, flexibility and wellness for life.
The program also includes the following:
Assessment with an exercise physiologist, including body fat percentage and measurements at weeks one and 10
