OSF Saint Anthony offers BLS Healthcare Provider renewal course

A BLS (Basic Life Support) renewal course for those who hold a current BLS Healthcare Provider card, or Red Cross equivalent, or whose card has not been expired for more than 60 days, will be offered in August at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.

The BLS Healthcare Renewal Course will be offered Thursday, Aug. 3, and Tuesday, Aug. 8. Those who wish to attend should call to register for a selected time.

Registration is limited. Call the OSF Saint Anthony staff development department at 395-5474.

The course is a self-study program. Participants must have the American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider textbook or CPR self-study guide and must pass the written test on the first attempt to proceed. Course fees are $30 and include the cost of the AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers textbook.

OSF Saint Anthony is the only Rockford medical center to earn the elite Magnet designation for nursing excellence. It is the highest award for nursing available in the United States.
