The RAMI Committee will have table space at 115 N. Wyman St. during this years On the Waterfront festival. People may stop by during the festival to pick up nomination forms, information/forms for the Gary Wilmer Scholarship, and information about the launching of the RAMI Association.
2006 RAMI nominations will be taken through Nov. 1, 2005. Musician/Musical Group entries for this years awards must be accompanied by the press kit with a CD containing at least one song by the group. Recording nominations must be accompanied by a press kit and CD with at least five songs.
Forms may be submitted by mail to RAMI Awards, P.O. Box 4128, Rockford, IL, 61110. Nomination forms will be available online at www.ramiawards.com for download or submission beginning Sept. 6. Forms will also be available at select locations, including the following:
Guzzardo Music, 3010 Charles St.;
Randees Music Center, 4616 Morsay Drive; and
Rockford Area Arts Council, 713 E. State St.
Winners from last years awards that have not received their certificates and bumper stickers may stop by and pick them up during On the Waterfront.
The RAMI Association will kick off its membership drive during On the Waterfront. The association is being formed to bring together local area musicians to help promote and support the local music scene. Membership is $10 for one year, or $15 for two years. Membership forms and details on the Association will be available at the RAMI committee booth.
Three-day Waterfront admission buttons are $12 in advance, available at various locations. Cost is $14 for a one-day admission wristband at the gate. Children 8 and younger are free.
