P.A. Peterson Center announces ‘Sing for Joy’ Open House

Sunday, Dec. 3, P.A. Peterson Center, 1311 Parkview Ave., Rockford, will host a “Sing for Joy” Open House from 2-4 p.m.

The first performer will be Stephanie Goldsmith, Rockford-famous gospel singer who was the 2005 winner of Inspiration Sensation. Goldsmith has also performed at the House of Blues, Rockford’s On the Waterfront, and Chicago’s Gospel Fest.

The next performer, Lynn Penix, Rockford-famous songwriter and vocal arranger, also is the voice behind the radio personality heard on WNTA’s Spinnin’ with Lynn, a gospel music broadcast on Saturday mornings. Penix has also opened for gospel greats such as Smokie Norful, Kurt Carr, Michelle Williams, Lee Williams and The Clark Sisters.

The Sing for Joy Open House will conclude with the Allen Chapel choir. Refreshments and tours will be available.
