Park District hosts summer sign-up

Make plans for a summer full of healthy recreation, memorable experiences, and learning new skills by attending Rockford Park District’s Summer Sign-Up, scheduled for Thursday, May 12, 4-7 p.m. at the downtown office, 401 S. Main St., Rockford. This free event is a “one-stop shopping” opportunity to gather information on a multitude of summer recreation and leisure offerings for youth, teens, and adults.

Registration will be open for many programs, such as summer camps, Kid Zones, pony camp, horse camp, sports camps, Totally Arts (formerly M.A.P. Camp), as well as lessons in swimming, tennis, golf, ice skating/hockey, and horseback riding.

People with disabilities are welcome to participate in all Park District programs and services. Rockford Park District’s Community and Therapeutic Recreation Team offers Inclusion Services to assist people with disabilities to successfully participate in any Park District program. For information on disability support and adapted equipment, call 987-1600 (voice/TTY).

At the Summer Sign-Up event, information and assistance will be available for accessing programs and activities by Therapeutic Recreation Services, and the Fun For All Kids fee assistance program.

Spanish speaking staff and sign language interpreters will also be on site.
