Park District offers opportunities for those with disabilities

The Rockford Park District invites athletes of any level who have disabilities related to mobility, vision or orthopedic impairment to try BlazeSports. These adapted sports programs are geared toward introducing players to the sport of their choice at their own comfort level, recreationally or competitively.

BlazeSports are offered at various times of the year, and include: wheelchair basketball, hockey, golf, power soccer, track and field, and boccia.

Registered players have access to some adapted equipment. Transportation may be available to qualifying individuals.

For a registration brochure or more information about the program, contact Park District Therapeutic Recreation Services at 815-987-1600 (voice/TTY).
