Pec Playhouse presents Big—The Musical July 9-25

Pec Playhouse Theatre announces performances of its only musical and third production of the 2004 season—Big—The Musical. The 1987 hit movie bursts onstage in this vibrant, funny and touching musical about the pains of growing up, the sentimentality of family love, and the gentle charm of children discovering a wider world.

Performances are scheduled for Fridays through Sundays, July 9-25 at Pec Playhouse Theatre, now in its 13th season.

The story: When frustrated adolescent Josh Baskin wishes he were “big” and wakes up the next morning a 30-year-old man, he discovers there’s much more to being an adult than he’s bargained for—and learns we must all grow up at our own pace, in our own time. A witty, moving, insightful book by John Weidman and a dazzling, energetic, heartfelt, contemporary score by David Shire and Richard Maltby Jr., makes this already classic motion picture fantasy an unforgettable theatrical experience. Big—The Musical holds universal appeal for audiences of all ages.
