Pec Playhouse presents drama 'Jake's Women'

Tickets are on sale for Pec Playhouse Theatre’s production of the Neil Simon comedy/drama Jake’s Women.

The cast is composed of one man and seven women—all volunteers from Rockford, Pecatonica and the surrounding area.

Pecatonica native Glen Wiegert portrays Jake, a writer in his mid 50s as he reaches a crossroads in his life, and thinking about the women who have affected and are still affecting his life.

The action of the play takes place both in Jake’s Soho apartment, and also in his mind.

The play is under the direction of Jesse T. Dabson, who directed the 2002 Pec Playhouse Theatre production of Barefoot in the Park, and most recently appeared as “da Jimmer” in the hilarious Jeff Daniels comedy Escanaba in da Moonlight.

A student of Know College and Northwestern University, Dabson spent 10 years in the Los Angeles area acting in several stage, film and television productions before recently returning to his home in Pecatonica.

Performances are Fridays through Sundays, Sept. 16-Oct. 2, with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $8 for people younger than 18 or older than 65, and are available at German-American State Bank in Pecatonica during normal business hours, or by calling the Box Office at 815-239-1210.

The last show of the 2005 season is A Christmas Story, set for Nov. 18-Dec. 4.
