Pheasants Forever host 16th annual banquet Feb. 22

The Winnebago County chapter of Pheasants Forever will hold their 16th annual fund-raising banquet Thursday, Feb. 22. The dinner will be at Giovanni’s, 610 N. Bell School Rd., Rockford. Social hour begins at 5 p.m., and the buffet dinner is from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

In addition to the banquet, more than 60 firearms will either be auctioned or raffled that evening. Highlights of the live auction include a “Bag Gun” Browning Citori White Lightning 20 gauge O/U. An African safari will also be auctioned. Professional hunter Peter Thormahlen will be at the banquet and be available to answer questions about the safari.

Cost for a full membership to the Winnebago County chapter of Pheasants Forever is $65 and includes the dinner, Pheasants Forever magazine and a window decal. Membership for a spouse or anyone 16 years through college-age student is $35 and is for dinner only. A ringneck membership for anyone 15 years old or younger is $30. The ringneck membership includes dinner and one ticket for the “Everyone is a Winner Ringneck” raffle.

Anyone attending should bring his or her Firearm Owner’s Identification cards to the raffle. All firearms must go through the legal waiting period before they can be picked up.
