The Rockford Area Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is hosting the 22nd Annual Philanthropy Day Award celebration from 5 to 7 p.m., Nov. 15, at Hilton Garden Inn, 7675 Walton St., Rockford.
National Philanthropy Day is a special day set aside to recognize the great contributions of philanthropyand those people active in the philanthropic communityto the enrichment of our world.
Awards will be given in the following three categories:
Outstanding Philanthropist Award, which will recognize an individual or family who has contributed to a variety of northern Illinois causes;
Outstanding Fundraising Volunteer Award will be presented to an individual whose personal volunteer efforts in fund-raising for philanthropic causes have been extraordinary; and
Outstanding Community Service Volunteer Award will recognize a volunteer who has made a significant impact by providing support through gifts of their time and talents to a number of organizations in the nonprofit community.
An Honor Your Own Award has also been added to recognize special philanthropists who have demonstrated generous support of time, talents and treasures to a specific organization or cause. Several awards will be given in this category.
AFP is changing its presentation format and venue this year to a social reception with hors doeuvres. Tickets for the hors doeuvre reception are $35. Mail check to Lynne D.
