Photographers Without Borders is a recently-established nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide educational and financial support to the communities of the world through the promotion and sale of fine art photography. The organizations focus is twofold: a scholarship program to assist young photography students attain their educational goals and a charitable giving program that enables Photographers Without Borders to financially contribute to the communities of the world.
Photographers Without Borders aims to unite photographers from around the world, and has positioned itself to support both amateur and professional photographers alike.
Photographers Without Borders President and Founder Phil Spitze noted: Photographers Without Borders is pleased to join the already great family of organizations operating under the Without Borders name. I am excited that fine art photography can drive people to action to make our world and our future a better place to live. As a photographer, I am thrilled at the global impact this art form can make.
The scholarship program assists up-and-coming photography students attain their educational goals and fine-tune their photographic skills. Participating in the photography auction fund-raising events provides professional photographers exposure on a national level. The goal for 2007 is to award 10 $5,000 scholarships for the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 academic years.
Photographers Without Borders also works to alleviate financial hardship through its charitable giving program. The board of directors will choose several charities each year, and make donations to their programs. Donations will be targeted to art-related charities that execute community-enriching programs.
