The United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 23 has been providing union labor and has supported the community in northern Illinois for more than 105 years. The Association provide training for its members that gives them the skills required to expertly perform all plumbing, pipefitting and HVAC tasks. These skills enable members to earn decent wages and benefits to provide for their families.
Local 23 members live, work and contribute to the community. Some projects that they have helped on are: assisted Harlem High School and their students with the plumbing on a house they built; renovated a home for a young paralyzed war veteran to make it handicapped accessible; donated food and time packing and distributing boxes for the Salvation Armys food drive; and held fund-raisers to support the American Diabetes Association, Arthritis Foundation and disabled members.
Local 23 salutes working men and women of America on this Labor Day.
