Poet to read from original works

BELOIT, Wis.—Poet Francesca Abbate will present a reading on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m., in Richardson Auditorium, in Morse-Ingersoll Hall, on the Beloit College campus. This free event is open to all.

A visiting assistant professor of English at Beloit College, Abbate has had poems published in Field, Green Mountains Review, Indiana Review, Iowa Review, The Journal, Poetry, and Third Coast. Abbate graduated from Beloit College in 1990 and earned a master of fine arts degree from the University of Montana and a doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Readings by other poets and writers—including Steve Healey, William Waltz, Arielle Greenberg, Stacy Szymaszek, Michael Burkard and William Least Heat-Moon—are scheduled at Beloit College throughout the spring.
