Poets invited to read at Turtle Creek

BELOIT—The Society for Learning Unlimited (SLU) will present a poetry reading open to the public on Saturday, June 15 at the Turtle Creek Bookstore, 444 E. Grand Ave., Beloit, from 2-4 p.m.

The bookstore, Beloit Public Library and New Light Studios will co-sponsor the event.

Scheduled poets from SLU and the stateline area will read. An open mike will follow the scheduled poets. A sign-up sheet will be available at the start of the reading. Everyone is welcome at the free event. Refreshments will be served.

This poetry reading is the second to be held at the Turtle Creek Bookstore. “Our first reading in February was such a success that we plan to offer at least one each season,” Ms. Roden said. “Our special thanks to Loris Damerow for emceeing the reading. She did an excellent job.”
