Pork Chop Run June 1
Unique Street Rods of Rockford will hold 27th annual Pork Chop Run for St. Jude Childrens Hospital Sunday, June 1, at GEM Suburban Park on Highway 2 (South Main) just south of Bypass 20.
The show is open to street rods, cutoms, classics, antiques and trucks. There will be trophies, prizes, cash, the famous grilled butterfly pork chops, games, great music and Daisy the Clown for the kids.
The gate for spectators opens at 10 a.m., and the fee is $3 ($2 goes to St. Jude Childrens Hospital). Parking is free.
This is one of the oldest, most prestigious shows with some of the top cars in the Midwest. Many of the cars are built by the owners and well-known builders that are shown in national magazines.
The show grounds are in a unique setting along the Rock River under large oak trees in a WWII officers club grounds including a stone gate and stone clubhouse.
