Project Welcome Home restarts

Comprehensive Community Solutions (CCS) Inc. announced that effective Aug. 11 it will re-commence the operation of Project Welcome Home (PWH). PWH is a program of CCS whose mission is to provide pre-owned furniture and other household items to people in need. To qualify for assistance, a family or individual must be referred to PWH by one of the many social service agencies within the community.

PWH will continue to rely on the generosity of the community to help make this project a success. Donations of furniture and other household items are essential to helping those in need. Items that are donated can be picked up by Project Welcome Home staff and volunteers. Volunteer assistance in manning the office, making deliveries, and other warehouse work would also be appreciated.

For information, CCS may be reached at its main number, 963-6236. Mail for the Project should be addressed to Project Welcome Home, c/o CCS Inc., 917 S. Main St., Rockford, IL 61101. The contact person for all PWH activities is Steve Marcon, Community Service coordinator. He will continue to be assisted by full-time AmeriCorps and VISTA personnel to handle the day-to-day operations of the project.
