Property tax bills in the mail

By

Annual, real estate, property tax bills for the year 2000, payable in 2001, are going out in the mail today to Winnebago County homeowners, businesses and farms. The property tax is divided into two, equal installments, with due dates of July 6 and September 4.

Your property tax information is available online at the County Treasurer’s website address, www.winnebagotreasurer.com, which offers you a three-page printout of data about your property. You can see displayed the amounts of the two installments, the payment due dates, a comparison of the current and past year’s tax rates for each taxing body your parcel lies within, a calculation of how your tax was figured and the short legal description of your property and its property code identification number. You can check the mailing address of the tax bill for accuracy and print a copy of the bill for your records.

Any homeowner who does not receive a tax bill by June 22, 2001, should call the Treasurer’s office at 987-3010 and ask for a duplicate bill.
