Indy Racing League (IRL) star and former Roscoe resident Danica Patrick is now starring in her own online video game.
Patrick, and one of her sponsors, AirTrans Airways, have teamed to create a game called AirTran Raceway.
Players who log on to airtranraceway.com can race against a digitized Danica. Four track options and players can choose from a variety of airport-themed vehicles, such as a luggage truck or people mover.
You use the vehicle you select to compete head-to-head against Danica in her 750-horsepower Indy car. During the race, she makes some funny comments about how you are doing. I got to hear, Youd do better if youd take off the training wheels. and Do you know there is no speed limit here? The best one, though, was, Is that you, grandma? All the comments are recorded in Patricks voice.
AirTrans Airways will reward the person, who logs the fastest time on each of the games four tracks with a round-trip ticket at the end of each Indy Car Series race week. More than 60 free tickets will be awarded during the season.
AirTran Raceway will remain online indefinitely, but the free ticket promotion runs through Sept. 9.
You can catch the real-life Danica this Saturday, April 21, at the Indy Japan 300 from Motegi, Japan. The race will be televised locally beginning at noon on ESPN.
