The Seventh Annual Rockford Area Music Industry (RAMI) fund-raiser March 5 at the Verdi Club in Rockford raised $6,880 for the Gary S. Wilmer Memorial Scholarship. Pictured (counterclockwise from the top): the Moondogs were the closing act with Mick Johnson on drums, Dan Jansen on guitar, Kenny Hopkins on keyboards, and Dick Campbell on base. The bands Mixed Company, Missing Links and Men of Our Times also donated their fine talent to the benefit. Fund-raisers Campbell and Dan Eisman wish to thank all the companies who donated auction items and all their fine volunteers for the night. Emcees and disc jockeys from 96.7FM, The Eagle, Mad Dog and Tyler Cox (right photo), flank the winner of an electric guitar, Tom O’Connell. O’Connell wants to donate the guitar to a deserving youth at the RAMI awards April 21 at the Tebala Shrine Temple. More information available online at www.RAMIAwards.com. See next week’s issue for more details on O’Connell’s generosity.
