Randy Sabien, Mike Dowling, Paige-Turner at Web

Charlotte’s Web has performances lined up for Friday and Saturday with acts for both adults and kids.

Friday, March 10, at 8 p.m., Randy Sabien and Mike Dowling will be at Mendelssohn PAC, 415 N. Church St. When Randy picks up his violin, his rhythmic, bluesy, swingin’ sound will have you tapping your toes and dancing right out of your chair.

Joining Randy is Mike Dowling, with a professional career that’s spanned four decades. It’s taken him from sideman, session player and bandleader to solo performer and composer of amazing versatility. Influenced by traditional Piedmont-style fingerpickers and swing jazz legends, Dowling has developed a style uniquely his own, that he translates fluently to arch top, flat top and resonator guitars alike.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Tickets are available at Rockford Area Arts Council, 713 E. State St., 963-6765; The Postal Shoppe, Edgebrook Center, 397-7301; and Tin Whistle, North Main & Auburn, 963-0270; or by mail with check and SASE, 10928 N. Main, Rockton, IL 61072.
