Even though the Rock River Raptors’ football season has ended, two of their players continue to make news.

This past week, the United Indoor Football league named Raptors quarterback Ben Sankey the league’s Most Valuable Player. Raptors kicker Doug Daniel earned the league’s Special Teams Player of the Year Award.

Sankey led the league in total offense with 3,091 yards (220.8 yards/game). He was the only quarterback in the league this season to average more than 200 yards per game. He finished the season with a 67.5 percent completion rate (262 of 388). His total of 2,951 passing yards (210.8 yards/game) led the league as well.

Daniel topped the league in scoring by a kicker with 166 points. He is the only kicker in the league who averaged double-digit points per game (11.9). His total points earned him third place overall in scoring. Daniel also led the league in field goal completion percentage with 59.6 percent and total field goals made with 31.
