Red Cross comes to aid of flood victims

The Rock River Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting families affected by flood with their emergency needs. Cleanup kits, snacks and water are being distributed to local areas in response to the flooding.

So far, more than 37 cleanup kits have been dispersed to the affected residents in parts of Roscoe and Machesney Park. Cleanup kits include brooms, mop, squeegee, pail, sponge, scrub brush, trash bags and other cleaning supplies.

The Red Cross will continue to monitor the flood conditions. Any families with emergency needs caused by the recent flooding can contact the Rock River Chapter at (815) 963-8471.

All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by donations of time and money from American people.
