RAMP has announced Sign2Me7 Baby Sign classes to hearing parents and their hearing children. Research has proven that teaching your pre-verbal child American Sign Language will reduce tantrums and frustration felt by you and your child, reinforce verbal development, and allow your child to clearly communicate his or her thoughts.
Classes will begin in early September, with both daytime and evening classes available. The four-week course will combine stories, song and playtime to teach you and your baby the basics of American Sign Language. Cost is $100 per family, including all material. Each familys enrollment would allow for two caregivers and child. Classes will be at RAMP, 202 Market St. in downtown Rockford. RAMP will also offer private family lessons.
