Registration open for Anthony Bourdain’s visit

Dec. 11, Rockford Public Library opened registrations for the 2007 “One Book, One Rockford” author lecture featuring renowned chef, television host and author, Anthony Bourdain. He will visit Rockford May 18-19, 2007, as part of the “One Book, One Rockford” program featuring his book, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly.

From 7 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, May 18, at the Rockford Theater at the Rockford Woman’s Club, Bourdain will delight audiences with anecdotes from his own personal experiences as a chef. This event is free and open to the public, and will be followed by a book signing. A maximum of five tickets may be reserved online at www.rockfordpubliclibrary.org. For parties of six or more, call 987-6609. Tickets reserved online will be available for pickup March 1. All tickets must be picked up at the Main Library, 215 N. Wyman St., by noon, Friday, May 18, or at the door of the Rockford Theater at the Rockford Woman’s Club between 5-6:30 p.m. the night of the program. All unclaimed tickets will be made available to the public.

From 6-10 p.m., May 19, the Rockford Public Library Foundation will host a fund-raiser at Rockford Country Club featuring Anthony Bourdain. Tickets are $75 each and can be reserved by contacting Renee Jensen, development officer, at 987-6611 or e-mail rjensen@rockfordpubliclibrary.org.
