Residents sought to discuss health care needs in Belvidere

Are Belvidere and Boone County residents well served for health care, or are additional services needed, or perhaps new ways desirable for providing services?

Does Belvidere need its own community hospital?

This is your opportunity to be heard.

Residents of Belvidere and Boone County are sought to discuss these and other health care-related questions in focus groups to be held in Belvidere. Sessions will take about an hour, and volunteers will be paid $15 for their time.

The focus groups are part of a study commissioned by the City of Belvidere to learn about local health care needs. The first phase, “Pulse of the Community,” will be conducted by Health Systems Research at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford. Community leaders are also being interviewed for their opinions as part of the study.

Mayor Frederic C. Brereton urges local citizens to take part in the discussions, which could help to guide future health care in Belvidere.

To take part or to ask questions about the study, please call Health Systems Research in Rockford at 395-5639 or 1-800-854-4461.
